Important information about sending items to us

First of all, please pick up the phone and speak to me before you send anything to the workshop. We will need to discuss your requirements and make sure I am indeed able to help you.  Also be sure you include full contact details (your name, full address, telephone number and email address if available) and instructions in any package you may send.  Please also note that I am unable to offer a return postage service so any work will need to be collected in person on completion.

Colwood Wheel Works – Previous Locations – A short history

Colwood Wheel Works was founded in 1959 by Edward Warner as “Warner Cycles”. He worked from a lock-up garage in Balham, South London.

In 1961 Edward opened his first shop at 210 High Street, Colliers Wood, 3 miles down the road from Balham. The shop was relocated twice in Colliers Wood and in 1986 the wheel building part of the business was renamed Colwood Wheel Works.

In 1988 Edward decided to close the bicycle side of the business. He continued to build wheels under the Colwood Wheel Works name in a new workshop location behind his home in Carshalton, Surrey.

Edward died in 2005 and the business was moved from Carshalton to Hailsham in Sussex and is now run by Edward’s son, Vince Warner.
